EUROPE HRC: Prices static; buyers expect higher offers on reduced availability

Domestic hot-rolled coil prices in Northern Europe were largely unchanged on Tuesday October 20, but buyers expect producers to increase their official offers soon, sources told Fastmarkets.

The offer prices will rise, they added, based on the combination of reduced availability and solid demand.
Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe, at ?,?496.50 ($583.42) per tonne on Tuesday October 20, down by just ?,?0.17 per tonne from ?,?496.67 per tonne on October 19.
