(TSX-V: CFM) ("Confederation" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Carl Hering as the new President and CEO of the Company. Dr. Hering will succeed Lawrence Dick, who has resigned for personal reasons.

Dr. Hering is a geologist with over 35 years of diversified technical and managerial experience in mineral exploration and corporate development worldwide. He has experience in all aspects of exploration from generative to advanced projects, negotiations, acquisition evaluation, mine and corporate valuation, management, strategic planning and new program design and implementation. Most recently, Dr. Hering has worked for numerous clients as an independent consultant evaluating advanced exploration opportunities and operating mines. He previously worked in senior exploration and corporate development positions for both Noranda Exploration and Placer Dome Inc. (1978 - 1996). From 1997 to 1999 he was Vice President Corporate Acquisitions for Bema Gold Corporation. Other than 2006, when he held the position of Senior V. P. Exploration and Business Development for Rio Narcea Gold Mines, he has been an independent consultant and President, CEO and Director of several public companies. During his 35 year career, he has led teams that have discovered more than 20M ounces of Au. As Director and Technical Advisor for Brett Resources, he acquired and advanced the Hammond Reef Project in Ontario; Brett was ultimately purchased by Osisko Mining. Hammond Reef contains more than 10M ounce of Au.

Dr. Lawrence Dick was a Director of the Company since 2006 and President and CEO of CFM since 2009. Dr. Dick coordinated the advancement of the Company's Newman-Todd Property in the Red Lake District, Ontario where 40% of the drill holes intercepted > 1 meter of > 20 g/t Au. David Velisek, a director of the company, has assumed the role of Chairman of the Board.

In addition to being the newly appointed President and CEO, Dr. Hering will join the Board of Directors of CFM along with newly appointed Director Ron Stewart. Mr. Stewart is a mining professional with over 30 years of international experience in exploration, project development, operations and the capital markets. In December 2016, Mr. Stewart was appointed President and CEO of Eros Resources Corp., a junior resource exploration company focused on the acquisition, exploration and development of resource projects in the Americas. More recently he has been appointed as Interim President, CEO and Director of Beaufield Resources. Prior to these roles, Mr. Stewart spent eight years in the capital markets industry as a top ranked equity analyst and investment banker: Managing Director, Mining Research at Dundee Capital Markets; Managing Director, Mining Equity Research at Macquarie Capital Markets (Canada) Ltd.; Managing Director, Investment Banking at Clarus Securities Inc.; and Senior Mining Analyst at Dundee Capital Markets. He also served as President and CEO of Verena Minerals Ltd. which later was renamed Belo Sun Mining. Prior to that, he worked five years as Executive Vice President of Exploration for Kinross Gold Corp. following a sixteen year career with Placer Dome Inc.
