Dubai Diamond Exchange Elects Board

RAPAPORT... The Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) has elected a new board of directors,featuring a range of professionals from across the industry, the bourse saidMonday. New members include Amit Dhamani, CEO of Dhamani Jewels;Davy Blommaert, the diamond-and-metals chief at the National Bank of Fujairah;and Gautam Sashittal, CEO of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC). AhmedBin Sulayem will continue to head the board as chairman of the DDE, havingtaken over from Peter Meeus earlier this year. "We welcome the newly [elected] board of directors to theDDE, who will bring in fresh views and expertise to further boost our keystrategic goals, particularly around rough and polished diamond tenders, toelevate our diamond marketplace for the benefit of Dubai and the industryworldwide," Bin Sulayem said.
