EUROPE HRC: Domestic prices still under pressure from import offers

Domestic prices for hot-rolled coil (HRC) in Southern Europe inched down this week due to competitive import offers and slow trading, sources told Fastmarkets on Wednesday October 10.

In the meantime, in the north and center of Europe, prices have been stable, with buyers keeping to a "wait-and-see" position until the next price trend becomes clear.Southern EuropeFastmarkets' price assessment for domestic HRC in Southern Europe was ?,?510-540 ($585-620) per tonne ex-works on October 10, compared with ?,?520-550 per tonne ex-works a week earlier.The upper end of the assessment reflected the "workable" prices heard in Spain, although official offers in the country were reported at ?,?560-565 per tonne ex-works.Prices for the material...
