CalendarIt's a busy week on the earnings front, with Disney on deck to report

Following the outcome of the latest policy-setting meeting, a number of speeches from Fed officials highlight the schedule for the week ahead. The timing could be interesting for the stock market, as central bankers will be sharing the spotlight with the latest monthly reports on wholesale and consumer inflation.

There will also be a number of noteworthy earnings reports to watch, including the latest quarterly results from "Avengers" parent -- and Dow component -- Walt Disney (DIS), along with fellow media giants 21st Century Fox (FOXA) and Discovery (DISCA). Tech stocks and Internet heavyweights will also be in focus, as the likes of Nvidia (NVDA), Etsy (ETSY), GoDaddy (GDDY), Roku (ROKU),Yelp (YELP),and Wix.com (WIX) all prepare to report earnings.

Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.

On Monday, May 7, speeches from Richmond Fed President Tom Barkin, Dallas Fed President Robert Kaplan, and Chicago Fed President Charles Evans will kick off the week. The Fed's consumer credit report is also expected.

Sharing time in the earnings confessional are AMC Entertainment (AMC), Carrizo Oil & Gas (CRZO), Envision Healthcare (EVHC), Hertz Global (HTZ), Luminex (LMNX), Plug Power (PLUG),Tyson Foods (TSN), Veeco Instruments (VECO), and Zillow (ZG).

The monthly Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) is scheduled for Tuesday, May 8. Wednesday, May 9, will bring the MBA mortgage index, weekly crude inventories, and the producer price index (PPI). Atlanta Fed President Raphael Bostic is expected to speak.

Scheduled to announce earnings mid-week are 21st Century Fox (FOXA), Array Biopharma (ARRY), Booking Holdings (BKNG), Cars.com (CARS), e.l.f. Beauty (ELF), Groupon (GRPN), Horizon Pharma (HZNP), Mylan NV (MYL), Office Depot (ODP), Party City (PRTY), PTC Therapeutics (PTCT), Roku (ROKU), SINA (SINA), Sunoco (SUN), Synaptics (SYNA), Toyota Motor (TM), and Wix.com (WIX).

On Thursday, May 10, the consumer price index (CPI), weekly jobless claims, and the Treasury budget are all anticipated. Earnings from Nvidia (NVDA), AMC Networks (AMCX), Diana Shipping (DSX), Duke Energy (DUK), Halozyme Therapeutics (HALO), Noodles & Co (NDLS), Symantec (SYMC), Tribune Media (TRCO), and Yelp (YELP) will round out the day's docket.

A speech from St. Louis Fed President James Bullard will be in focus ahead of the opening bell on Friday, May 11. Traders will also respond to the latest University of Michigan consumer sentiment index, plus import and export prices. Earnings from Thomson Reuters (TRI) will finish out the week.
