Gold Seeker Weekly Wrap-Up: Gold and Silver Find Slight Gains on the Week

The Metals:

Gold fell $9.20 to $1312.90 at about 8:30AM EST before it rallied back to $1324.90 by midday and then drifted lower into the close, but it still ended with a gain of 0.11%. Silver chopped between $16.347 and $16.672 and ended with a gain of 0.61%.

Euro gold rose above EUR1075, platinum gained $12 to $962, and copper climbed 6 cents to about $3.13.

Gold and silver equities waffled near unchanged and ended slightly lower.

The Economy:

US January final wholesale inventories 0.8% vs 0.7% expected forexlive

U.S. Added 313,000 Jobs in February; Wage Gains Slow to 2.6% Bloomberg

U.S. nonfarm payrolls post largest gain in one-and-a-half years Reuters

The Markets:

Oil rose over 3% on easing geopolitical risk concerns after U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korea's Kim Jong Un announced plans to meet face-to-face by the end of May.

The U.S. dollar index held near unchanged on concerns about slowing wage growth.

Treasuries fell as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P gained nearly 2% on economic optimism.

Among the big names making news in the market Friday were Amazon, Bombardier, Toys 'R' Us, Tesla, and Netflix.
