IDEX Price Report: Polished Prices Mostly Flat in March, Some One-Carat Rounds Up

By John Jeffay / April 01, 2020 / www.idexonline.com / Article Link

(IDEX Online) - Prices for March followed a similar pattern to recent months, with no movement at all in the majority of carat, color and clarity categories and a mix of fluctuations in those which did see change.

Smaller stones, (up to 0.39) both round and fancy, were at a virtual standstill.

The trend among changes that were seen in the 1.00-1.24ct rounds was generally up, by around three per cent, among better colors (D to H) and SI3+ clarities.

Below are some highlights from the April 1st Price Report. IDEX members can see the full IDEX Price Report and changes for all sizes by clicking here.

The report is produced every month using the same criteria and methodology, and therefore serves as an objective guideline for prices and price changes for rounds and fancies.

It employs sophisticated statistical tools to smooth out market irregularities, so it is resistant to erratic changes that could otherwise skew results.
