The IDEX Online Polished Price Report - February 2020

By John Jeffay / March 01, 2020 / www.idexonline.com / Article Link

(IDEX Online) - Prices remained fairly stable in January, with the range of mixed but minor changes that have become a theme in recent months. There was isolated or limited movement in some categories of round and fancy, but a standstill in most.

Larger rounds (1.50-2.99 ct) saw modest increases of up to 3 per cent and pointers (0.18 to 0.29 ct) were up in some categories around 5 per cent.

Half to 0.9 ct rounds saw more movement down than up, especially in D colors. But among 1.00-1.24ct rounds there were some positive changes in the middle to better qualities. Large stones (4.00 to 5.99 ct), especially mid-qualities increased by up to 6 per cent.

Smaller fancies (under 0.89 ct) saw some negative movement, particularly among D to F colors and among some of the better clarities. There were mostly movements upwards among 1.00-1.24 ct rounds. In other categories there were modest swings both up and down. Good color and clarity stones 1.5 to 2.99 ct rose 3 per cent.

Following are some of the main changes in this week's IDEX Online Diamond Price Report.
