Yoram Dvash to Head New WFDB Strategic Initiatives Committee

(IDEX Online) - Yoram Dvash, President of the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE), has been appointed to head a new committee of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) to undertake strategic initiatives to advance the global industry, the IDE said in a statement.

 

The new appointment was announced during the World Diamond Congress in Mumbai, which concluded last week.

 

IDE President Dvash said that he was very pleased to lead this very important initiative. "The Israel Diamond Exchange has introduced groundbreaking measures to advance the local industry. We have enhanced the transparency of the industry, increased cooperation with governmental authorities and have introduced the first Ethical Code of Conduct in a diamond exchange. We have also taken several steps to harness the power of technology and innovation for the good of the industry. We are excited to lead the world industry to greater levels of transparency, relevance and achievement."

 

Dvash announced several months ago that he would relinquish his position as Vice President of WFDB in order to fully devote himself to seeing through the technological and administrative revolution he had put into motion at IDE, the statement added.

 

Dvash headed a delegation of the Israel Diamond Exchange to the World Diamond Congress which included Boaz Moldawsky, Chairman of the Israel Diamond Institute; Eran Zini, IDE Managing Director; Shmuel Iny, Legal Advisor; Meir Wertheim, Chairman of the WFDB Legal Committee and Shabtai Vogel, President of the Etgar Diamond Bourse.
