Gold Extends Early Losses, Hits 3-Week Low, As U.S. Dollar Index Hits Daily High

(Kitco News) - Gold prices are trading solidly down and hit a three-week low inlate-morning action Tuesday. Gold prices are sliding and have extended modestovernight losses as the U.S. dollar index is sharply higher and is trading atits session high. More technical selling is featured today as the gold marketis now in a near-term price downtrend on the daily charts. Aprilgold was lastdown $10.00 an ounce at $1,307.70.
