(Kitco News) - Ferrochrome producer MerafeResources (JSE: MRF) reported today that its attributable 9M 2021 production fromthe Glencore Merafe Chrome Venture surged by 64% to 276 ktonnes compared to thesame period a year ago.
The company said that thisincrease was mainly due to current production being less affected by theCOVID-19 restrictions coupled with improved plant efficiencies achieved at its smelters.
The company has a 20.5%interest in the Merafe Ferrochrome and Mining Proprietary Limited. Mining giantGlencore has the remaining 79.5%.
