Samples show gold structure at Okapi's Mambasa project

Junior metals explorer Okapi Resources Limited (ASX:OKR) has todayannounced thatencouraging soil sampling results have been returned from its recent initialPhase 1 exploration program at the Mambasa Project - consisting of LicencesPE364 and PE480 in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

997 soil samples were processed at ALSJohannesburg, producing encouraging results of up to 0.93 g/t gold returnedfrom soil sampling. Anomolous gold results at Mambasa have indicated a north-westerlytrend, which is the same regional trend that hosts large-scale gold depositswithin the area such as AngloGold Ashanti's Geita Gold Mine (20Moz) mine inTanzania and Loncor Resources Inc's recently defined Makapela Gold Project(1Moz).

On the back of these positive results, a followup Phase 2 program is currently being planned for the June quarter, with thepossibility of scout diamond drilling.

It should be noted that OKR is still in its early stages and investorsshould seek professional financial advice if considering this stock for theirportfolio.

The company took all soil samples from thePE364 licence area on a 250 metre line by 100 metre soil sample grid, and submittedthem to the ALS Laboratory for analysis. Encouragingly, OKR received results ofup to a maximum of 0.93 g/t gold.

Anomalous gold results from the samplingprogram show a favourable +3km NW trend with similar geometry shown by some ofthe more significant gold projects in the region, including Kibali and Geita. Thecompany stated that "a similar NW fabric can be seen in satellite imagery andthe lineation is currently interpreted as the same structural trend that hostsdeposits in the Ngayu Greenstone Belt".

Executive Director Nigel Ferguson commented ontoday's news: "We are pleased to report the recent soil sample results from theMambasa project and are encouraged by the identification of the mineralisednorth-west regional trend that is a geological backdrop for such regionaldeposits as AngloGold Ashanti's Geita Mine and Randgolds Kibali Mine.

"We are currently gaining a betterunderstanding the minor element association. The follow up work is in theplanning stage and will seek to ground truth anomolous results, with a view ofworking up some drill targets for the June or September quarter."
