Surveys Show Shocking Level of American Government ‘Hatred’

By Daily Bell Staff / February 09, 2016 / www.thedailybell.com / Article Link

New Hampshire is the second state to make its picks for the Republican and Democratic presidential nominees. Residents will cast ballots in primary elections on Feb. 9, one week after the first presidential nominating contest in Iowa, where Republican Ted Cruz and Democrat Hillary Clinton emerged victorious from the caucuses … While all the early primary states are in the business of winnowing the presidential field, New Hampshire in the past has set itself apart by spooking the front-runner and supporting a lesser-known candidate. With a crowded field on the Republican side, that type of choice could make things particularly interesting. While we wait to see who the winners and losers will be, we’re digging into the details of the second presidential nominating state to answer some questions you might have. - US News

The article above believes we have questions about the vote in New Hampshire.

We don’t. In fact, judging from some recent reporting it seems as if lots of Americans have very few questions at this point.

Mostly because they are disgusted.

What’s the evidence? Well … two recent polls, for one thing.

CBS recently posted a report entitled, “Americans hate the U.S. government more than ever.” The story was based on a new survey from the American Customer Satisfaction Index.

Here’s a quote:

The federal government has joined the ranks of the bottom-of-the-barrel industries, according to a new survey from the American Customer Satisfaction Index. Americans’ satisfaction level in dealing with federal agencies - everything from Treasury to Homeland Security - has fallen for a third consecutive year, reaching an eight-year low.

In fact, approval ratings for government picked up a bit 2011 and 2012, probably because the government was handing out lots of money to counteract the Greater Recession.

But the article quotes Forrest Morgeson, ACSI’s director of research as warning, “Satisfaction is linked to broader goals in the political system that it wants to maximize, like confidence and trust … It’s much more difficult to govern if the entire population dislikes you.”

This is not a hypothetical warning. Well-known Washington’s Blog recently reported that the “Overwhelming Majority of Americans Believe That Both Parties Are Too Corrupt to Change Anything … ‘This, in Fact, Is a Revolution’.”

The article summarizes a Huffington Post article in which a “group of Republican and Democratic pollsters and political strategists” provide some “stunning” online results based on polling data:

84% of all Americans believe political leaders are more interested in protecting their power and privilege than doing what is right81% percent believe the power of ordinary people to control our country is getting weaker every day as politicians of both parties fight to protect their own power and privilege80% believe the federal government is its own special interest primarily looking out for itself78% believe that the Democratic and Republican Parties are essentially useless in changing anything, because both political parties are too beholden -75% believe that the US government is NOT working for the people’s best interest74% see the biased and slanted coverage of the media as part of the problem71% believe our government is not only dysfunctional, it is collapsing right before our eyes70% believe the government in Washington does not govern with the consent of the people

The pollsters concluded that “The country [is] in a prerevolutionary moment. … This election could mark the beginning of the end of two-party duopoly in the United States.”

The pollsters also characterized people’s perception of the US as a kind of war zone in which a “struggle” is taking place between “ruling elites” and mainstream America.

They indicated that such views are being portrayed as “temporary” but this may not be so - and that the views represent a “tidal wave of discontent.”

Washington’s Blog concludes, “This, in fact, is a revolution.”

Okay … but not so fast.

From our perspective, this is more evolution than revolution. That’s not a bad thing.

This evolution is far from finished.

For about a decade now, in various Internet incarnations and most recently at The Daily Bell, we’ve pointed out that the previous information revolution, embodied by the Gutenberg press, splintered Western civilization and created an entirely new sociopolitical and economic environment.

For a long time we were regularly accused of being foolish and overly optimistic. But studying the results of the Gutenberg press showed us clearly that the “modern” kind of information revolution was relatively unstoppable and that it would destroy much that seemed inviolable.

It is very difficult to implement change from the top down when people have been awakened to their plight.

This awakening is not necessarily the same thing as a physical revolution, however. What is happening is that society’s certainties are self-destructing.

The elites that created this structure are now trying to substitute another structure via trade agreements like TPP, but since it is coming from the same place, people are distrustful of them.

In fact, we would argue that the masses in Europe are just as disaffected about their federal government as US citizens are about theirs. And this means in the longer term that the planning and manipulation now taking place will not necessarily result in the kind of world that our modern elites wish to see.

Realize that you are NOT doomed to live in a world resembling 1984 because too many people know about it and intend to resist. There is no such thing as “secret” directed history anymore.

These polls show very clearly that that the surreptitious direction elites exercised in the 20th century is a thing of the past. But please note there are no satisfactory alternatives for them. Overt violence against seven billion people is a questionable solution indeed.

This is not to say that the evolution of a better, freer kind of global society will be easy or efficient. On the contrary, it may be bloody and impoverishing. YOUR assignment is to ensure that you and your family are not caught up in the coming chaos.

Conclusion: You need to take action when it comes to ensuring lifestyle and even survival options. Make sure you have access to food, potable water and sufficient cash and precious metals. Diversify your investments. You need to successfully navigate what is unfolding. But if you do, there are better times ahead.

You don’t have to play by the rules of the corrupt politicians, manipulative media, and brainwashed peers.
