Your Questions, Answered

Why should I buy the TSX-V 50?
If you’re interested in learning more about the most advanced, larger-capitalization miners listed on the Toronto Venture Exchange, this quarterly report will save you weeks of work. We compiled financial data, news results, and other company information to summarize the stories of the exchange’s top 50 stocks.
What do I get with my annual subscription to the TSX-V Top 50?
The TSX-V Top 50 is an analysis of the largest-capitalization mining stocks on the Toronto Venture Exchange. These companies are more advanced and de-risked than micro- and nano-cap junior mining companies. It's a mix of junior miners in gold, silver, copper, uranium, and other metals. TSX-V Top 50 companies have viable projects, many with feasibility studies, major mining partners, and ample cash to continue advancing their stories.

We will update the report quarterly and share our latest analysis with you. We reserve the right to release an update before or after the beginning of the quarter, depending on market conditions. For example, during the 2022 crash, we delayed our release to see how it developed and affected junior mining stocks.
Will I learn about picking stocks?
The TSX-V Top 50 will give you context for your investment decisions in the junior mining space. Our goal is to help you become better informed about the different stages of mining companies’ life cycles and operations and to understand the drivers of different metals.

However, the report is not a beginner’s guide to stock picking, and some basic knowledge of equity markets is assumed.
Am I getting stock picks with this subscription?
We do not provide stock picks as we are not an investment adviser. However, we partnered with Rob Bruggeman, CFA, the founder of The Wealthy Miner, to provide investment ideas to the members of his premium service. Read more about The Wealthy Miner here.
What is the Weekly Roundup article all about?
The Weekly Roundup covers the most recent developments in the metals and mining space. The Roundup usually has three sections:
  • Recent and significant drivers of both metals and junior miners,
  • Analysis of the performance of a specific subsector of the market or a public company, and
  • A detailed review of the news flow from the larger TSXV 50 junior gold miners.
What are junior mining companies and why are they important?
Junior mining companies fall into three broad groups: explorers, developers, and producers.

Junior miners do the hard work of sourcing and developing new deposits. They take on risks that major mining companies may not be willing to. This makes them high-risk and high-potential-reward plays. Major mining companies must continually replenish their reserves as existing mines deplete their ore content. Producing metals such as gold, silver, copper, nickel, and uranium is critical to modern civilization.

Without junior mining, there would be no new mines and no metals supply to build next-generation electronics, upgrade the electricity grid to meet rising global demand, and even produce food fertilizer.
Why is investing in junior mining companies a good opportunity?
Investing in advanced mining juniors provides a good opportunity for significant gains and controlled risks. These resource companies tend to have either a series of high-grade drill results, a resource estimate, or economic studies to support their valuations. Early-stage opportunities rely on a discovery to create shareholder value.

Junior mining stocks can work well as the aggressive, high-risk portion of a balanced portfolio under the guidance of a licensed investment adviser.
What is the Canadian Mining Report and who is behind it?
The Canadian Mining Report is here to provide clarity and context on junior miners for general investors. We focus on the larger TSX-V-listed miners. These are companies established enough to have substantially reduced risk compared to many very small, very early-stage junior miners, while also offering the potential to double or more in value.
What are your qualifications, and why should I trust the Canadian Mining Report?
The Canadian Mining Report brings to you a decades-long history of following the junior mining space with wide contacts in the industry and a strong background in equity markets with the ability to communicate the story of junior mining stocks in a clear and relevant way for the general investor.
